Our Ceiling Tree…

So, the box arrived Wednesday afternoon, just as I had been informed it would.  It came from Amazon.com and this scrawny little FedEx girl was doing her best to keep it off the wet porch but she wasn’t near as successful as she should have been.

The children were bouncing off the walls like banshee’s.  I insisted we wait and let their dad take a look at it and handle the assembly and hanging.  He is quite handy to have in situations like this!  Ha!

And, as he opened the really monstrous box, we remarked at how small it seemed.  I knew it was a 4 foot tree but it’s amazing what they can pack in such small places.  My six year old was taller than the box.

We took a photo of the 5 year old, he fit in the box.  Yea, imagine that.

the tree

Here it is all, lying on the box it came in…basking in it’s own strangeness.  It came with two hangers and it only has two sides.  It is a corner tree.  I have to say, a corner tree is an awesome idea and I wish someone had thought of that prior to me purchasing my big tree.

The directions in the box weren’t for the tree that was in the box.  But, that doesn’t slow my husband down, he is a genius.  Shortly after knifing open the box, this is what we saw….(I’m not sure why the photo’s of Christmas lights are always blurry but they make me nuts)….

As you can tell, it needs some fluff work but that’s it……….what do you think…I rather like it, however, my husband the one who goes overboard with everything (upcoming post about lights outdoors blinking to the music being played indoors on his laptop) will probably put our other tree up in the other corner.  He made mention of wishing we had one of these corner tree’s for every corner of the family room.  OverKILL!

Last year the boys got up during the middle of the night and opened all the presents…if case you forgot, so this year…..we will have to find another method of madness…

If you would like to see a video of a similar but much larger tree that was featured on the Today show….you can check that out as well….

To keep your kids from opening the presents, you should hang them on the ceiling around the tree.
