Shew how come the clean clothes stink?CLOSED

As man of you know, I have a new washer and dryer.  And, since they were delivered two days before I left for an extended business trip, I didn’t even get to use them.  When I returned home, to mounds of laundry, at least it was clean, my husband is quite fond of anything electronic, I stated that the laundry detergent that said “outdoor fresh” was not going to work out.  I didn’t like the smell of a wet dog on my clothing.

So, we bought some more and I gave that stinky stuff away.  And, we commenced to washing more clothes.  By this time, the smell was permeating my entire house.  Anywhere there was clean laundry, there was this smell.  It wasn’t as bad as it was originally, not so much wet dog as just a sour smell.  What in the world could that be?

My husband had even re-washed a couple of loads thinking he had waited too long about moving them to the dryer.  Dryer sheets helped but still every room with nice clean fresh laundry had this smell.  I broke out the air fresheners.  Nope, no help.

And, then, one day as I was moving a large load of towels which had washed on the enormous 2 hour cycle with hot water, stain remover and sanitizing function, I realized that I could smell that smell.  Ewwww that smell.

I stuck my head in the washer when I was done.  Yes, its a big washer and no my head is not that big.   But the smell….holy freakin’ cow, that smell.  I figured it out, it’s that new smell, because obviously my appliances are new, but it is also a bit soured.  Soured and new, they don’t mix.

And, then comes Smelly Washer Cleaner.  My hero’s have a product I was ready to use it, 3 or 4 or 10 times if I had to in order to get rid of that smell.  But, it only took one.  The directions are simple and you just put this powder like stuff in the machine as if it were detergent and run a blank cycle after letting it soak in your machine.  I didn’t actually do the process the first time, I let the man who loves buttons and electronics handle it.

And, ahhhhhh so much better.  So, much better………

That was a month or so ago.  Sometime last week when I was washing 754,942,232 loads of laundry, I smelled that smell again.  So, I looked for my bottle of Smelly Washer Cleaner.  And it has a maintenance program on it too.  And, ahhh, it worked like a charm.

I’m not sure why my brand new machine has this problem but I have the solution – so there, take that new machine!

Now, would you like a bottle to try for your washing machine, you can just win yourself one, right here!

If i win, I will be using Smelly Washer in my own front loading washer. I have had my washer for over a year and have had an odor problem since day one. I leave the door open between loads and that helps, but if someone closes it phew! Thanks for the chance to win!

I also saw only one product, but this sounds great. My wash doesn't really smell bad, unless I don't get the clothes dry right away. It helps when I use a good organic detergent with enzymes, but I save that for towels and underwear. Thanks.

  34. Jennifer says:
