I am a true Southern Girl.  I am a true ‘Bama Girl.  I’m not sure that the word “Belle” or “Charm” either one represent me but I sure hope the word “faker” doesn’t come to mind to.  Because, I mean, really ya’ll….that’s wrong.

How could it be that I can get a good laugh from anyone outside of the South? I can throw around slang with the best of them…see…

“….I don’t now him from Adam’s house cat….”

“…I walked to school up hill both ways in the snow with a half-full bucket of syrup and a half eaten biscuit…”

“…..how much you like?” (This one may need translation.  The real word is lack.  Like = lack)

And, most people who meet me are taken aback by my lack (not like in this sentence) of grammar.  I say “lack of grammar” because my grammar is not just bad, it basically doesn’t exist.  I try to type just like I talk for many reasons but I do have the ability to write with proper grammar.

I just don’t choose to use it often.

I am too nice for my own good.  If there is such a thing as Karma……I practice it often but she seems to be pretty pissed at me.

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

But finally, I am the most transparent blogger I know.  I use nicknames for my kids but generally I do that because it fits the situation.  Our real names are everywhere so I make no efforts to hide from anyone.

Transparent = Jerri Ann Reason

So you can surely understand how hearing that I “try” to talk like I am not from the south is painful.  I think when I was much younger I might have done that but I thought I was embracing my southern roots.

Honestly, I left a store the other day and my receipt was cut off because the printer ran out of paper.  As I headed out the door, I heard someone say…..

“It’s ok.  It ain’t got nuttin’ on it that matters”

Oh my, and it was me!
