This Santa Gig is No Walk in the Park, I’m Back Up for Mother of the Year
when we left off……..
I was busily handling all kinds of crazy things online and off to prepare for Christmas. For the first time ever, we volunteered to take a cooked dish to my Grammy’s…one that Wayne would cook and then…he had to work yesterday. Nice uh? ‘
It was ok, I did some final shopping with a cousin (for 5 hours..and he later made fun of me for that) and then …….well, where should I start……..
- we didn’t start wrapping til close to midnight
- we couldn’t find everything we had bought
- we let the PJ’s that the elves usually bring while we are at my Grammy’s be found by one tiny little cherub
- they insisted on wearing them
- Jace had an allergic reaction to them because they had not been washed, I had already bought other pj’s, I found these yesterday and they were so cool, I don’t know what all this kid is going to be allergic to but it’s not pretty,
- we didn’t finish wrapping til 1:30 AM
- we woke the kids up on our way to bed and they persisted hourly that it was time to see what Santa brought
- they opened gifts and some
had the wrong names on them, oops! - it snowed…and that totally was not my fault
- the kids built a snowman, (see below)
- we found the presents we lost
- we went to my moms and ate, opened gifts, played some wicked UNO Attack!
- the boys got robes and slippers, Walker’s clothes were wet from playing in the snow so he put his own and put his clothes in the dryer and he wore it sans anything for a long time (I refuse to take responsibility for that. That technically makes Nanny up for Grandmother of the Year)
- we came home, the boys found the “other” gifts Santa left
- Jace wanted to know what was for dinner, I told him he already had it, he insisted that he had the other food for lunch and he wanted a frozen pizza for dinner….so Wayne fixed it for him (ha! That makes him Dad of the Year eligible too I’d say)
- they played, Toys R US vomited in my family room (see photo below)
- they went to bed, Jace wanted to wear his new robe
- he had an allergic reaction, I’m washing everything new that he got tonight so we can pack to go on vacation tomorrow
- but did I mention that it snowed? grrrrr in Alabama grrrrr what in the world is that about?
- we have a paid for room in New Orleans that I won..last year…. for Monday and Tuesday…..but we wanted to leave after church tomorrow….but did I mention it snowed?
I totally had nothing to do with the flippin’ snow….and if I had, you would all be free to send at least one bullet my way…but I had nothing to do with that…….nor this Snowman with a celery nose instead of a carrot nose and obviously my kid didn’t think he needed his tboggin and gloves because he gave those to Shorty the Snowman Fat………nor am I cleaning up this Toys R US disaster…..ugh……..
I may or may not have already shared this disaster….yes, first year on record to have snow on the ground in Alabama on Christmas…hummmmm

I am a mom to two wonderful boys. They are my life. I needed a career where my kids could continue to be my life. We bought a daycare. Now, my boys and I spend all day together. Sometimes I need a mommy break, but mostly, I love it. I am definitely a mom who is focused clearly on her children. That's me, mom~e~centric.
