Virtual Roasting

On Tuesday, the top post on this site will be in honor of a member of the Collective Bias community. With that, let me tell you a few things, Q & A style.

1.  What is Collective Bias?

That’s a grand question and many of us ask ourselves that almost daily. The bottom line is an online shopping community that works exclusively with brands to the benefit of everyone.

2.  Who is a member of Collective Bias?

Almost anyone that wants to be, it’s doesn’t require anything extremely difficult, although an online presences makes it easy to jump in and join the fun.

3.  What is a Virtual Roast?

A Virtual Roast is much like any other roast. It involves the hailing the praises of a friend, but it will be all done online, not Carol Burnett style from a podium.  Many, or maybe most, of us who are members of Collective Bias have many irons in the fire.  We wanted to exchange Holiday wishes (and some participated in a ornament exchange) without actually taxing anyone’s pocket necessarily. So, we put our names together, I assigned everyone a partner and that person became their Collective Bias Star.

4.  What will I see in this Virtual Roast?

I will post my version of  Virtual Roast of my partner (it’s still a secret who it is) and there will be a mister linky at the bottom of the post so that everyone can add their links as well.  You can rest assured, I’ll find out who has me and see what kind of dirt they managed to dig up on me.  GAH!  No dirt please!

And, finally, the most often asked question of them all,

5.  What is it that you actually do and how did you get into that?

I do a variety of things, one of them is freelance writing.  Another is social media and another is waste time chatting and emailing and *gasp* playing on facebook. Sure, it’s way more complicated than that, but hopefully, by the first of the year, we can work some pieces of the puzzle out so I can start to help you learn to do some of the same kinds of things. I’m definitely in the minority here in the deep south, having an online personality is just a part of who I am and as most of you know, that’s just not the norm for where I live.

I am a mom to two wonderful boys. They are my life. I needed a career where my kids could continue to be my life. We bought a daycare. Now, my boys and I spend all day together. Sometimes I need a mommy break, but mostly, I love it. I am definitely a mom who is focused clearly on her children. That's me, mom~e~centric.
