Working and Meditating how they came to be

This morning at 3:30 when I couldn’t sleep, I found myself sitting in the family room, alone, “working”.  I thought about it a minute and then wondered, when did I start considering everything I do on the computer work?  And, I really couldn’t remember. 

I made money in 2001 from some work I did on the computer.  It carried over into about 2002 but it wasn’t like I was making some monster amount of money.  Mostly I was in chat rooms and on forums, surfing, reading, actually what I was doing was entertainment akin to watching television.

And, then, in early 2007, I found a way to make more money online than I had ever dreamed possible.  And, there have been plenty of times since then that I’ve had made very little but basically, I’ve had a steady income from the internet since 2007.  But, l spend a large amount of time on the computer so…..when am I online for fun and online for work? 

Actually?  Never.  I’m always doing both.  I might be researching for posts but checking personal email and Tweeting in between.  Writing posts, looking for better online jobs and in the meantime, I’m looking for my buddies online. 

So, when people ask me “how much do you work”, I usually spit out a very large number of hours but the fact of the matter is, I could do what I do in much less time.  However, the work doesn’t come liked that.  The posts, the assignments, they come scattered through-out the day and night.  And, I just d them as they show up and in the interim….I play……
