Just as I was happily typing away about how wonderful it was to read the comment regarding “I found your blog on Google”, I was getting a really bashing comment on one of my other blogs.  It was on this post, The Angry 4 Year Old.  You see, obviously there are folks out there who believe that I enjoy the fact that my 4 year old isn’t potty trained.

Ok, so did you get that?  Would you enjoy it if your 4 year old were not potty trained?  Erm..I didn’t think so.  And, because I knew the kid had a stubborn streak in him (a mile wide, resembles his very own mothers, darn me), I have waited longer than I might should have about contacting a doctor.

But, we did just that today.  All along I thought it was a Sensory Disorder and that was semi-confirmed today.  She also indicated that there was some ODD or Oppositional Defiance Disorder along with some issues with anxiety.  Anxiety?  I was nodding my head in complete agreement with the anxiety part of this deal.

As most of you know, I’ve been traveling a lot as of late, 3 weekends out of the last six I’ve been gone for at least 3 days, and in some cases 4 days.  And, when I return home, the kid is glued to me.  There is no doubt in my mind that this is an issue.

The doctor was kind enough to ask “are there any anxiety disorders in the family?”, to which I laughed out loud because, er…duh, can you say “thanks to his mom for that too”.

So, if you are keeping tabs, that makes me responsible for 2 of the 3 issues he is coping with.  As for ODD, he did NOT get that for me.  Ditto Boy is more like me in this area, he aims to please and would never defy authority because he wants to be liked.

So, there you go, some folks make me happy, some folks make me sad…and guess what?  That’s just life……
