I was given the awesome task of buying candy.  Ok, seriously, what could be better than being asked to buy candy?  And, so, I was all over this one.  Here’s the deal, I headed to Murphy USA to get some candy to give to the little ghosts and goblins that we would encounter on Halloween.  I knew we wouldn’t be home but we make goodie bags for certain folks that we meet along our path each year.  They do the same, we basically exchange bags of candy and often the exact same kinds.

I headed in the store because I knew there would be deals somewhere.

e Sure, enough, 2 for $1 on the M & M’s.  Then, grabbed some Reese’s because those never get old.  I finished my stash by the candy that was hanging and left @GadgetMagnet to his own devices.  When it was all said and done, we tallied it up and paid.

Next stop to the grocery store for some real world food and snacks..oh well, see how that played out eh?

Home to watch that candy and make sure no one touches it til Halloween.  Finally, the boys came in the door after school asking what time we would be leaving.  Once we were all ready, it was picture time.  We grabbed our trading treat bags and headed to my moms.  That’s tradition here, Nanny always gets the first stop, the first look at costumes and then, we head out.

We hit a few houses before we ran into any of our candy traders.  We actually missed one group and apparently we were either really early or really late because we had to go find some of the others.  We always take the same route as do most folks, I’m just not sure what happened.  But, I can assure you, the candy they received from the stash we gathered on our Murphy shop was way better than expected.  Funny to see their faces when they realize they have a supersized candy bar or bag of M & M’s.  Love.it!

We ended up in the mall where the crowd was enormous.  I have never seen that parking lot that crowded except for Christmas.  The boys received free dinner coupons and a sucker from one of our favorite restaurants…so..heck why not.

Dinner was done and we had one last treat…no tricks.  We headed back to Murphy USA to indulge in..you guessed it ice cream.  It was getting cool outside but I had spotted the ice cream earlier when I purchased the candy for trading.  Had.to.have.some.

Now, you can see more photos on my Google+ page if you are interested!  It’s under Ghosts and Goblins….you can’t miss it.

Thanks to Murphy USA, Collective Bias and my sweet adorable boys and Gadget Magnet for nothing but fun!  And, for the record, the fun never stops.  You can join in by following Murphy USA on Facebook and Murphy USA on Twitter.

I am a mom to two wonderful boys. They are my life. I needed a career where my kids could continue to be my life. We bought a daycare. Now, my boys and I spend all day together. Sometimes I need a mommy break, but mostly, I love it. I am definitely a mom who is focused clearly on her children. That's me, mom~e~centric.

Jerri Ann, your boys are cute! I like the idea of trading treats with the regulars you meet every year too....takes some of the worry about whose door you're walking up to.:)
