Yes, I’ve written this from a media aspect on my Media Critiques blog.  I am going to write more about it on my Mental and Emotional Health blog later and probably will even address it on my Mom is Teaching blog.

So, how do I feel about each of the individuals above?

What’s going on in the news regarding these three people?

How do you feel about the loss of these folks?

Absolutely many people believe that bad things happen in three’s.  And, I didn’t even realize that we had lost Ed McMahon earlier this week.  With small children running around, we don’t get to watch much news and somehow, I even missed it on twitter.

But, I didn’t watch the late shows but I did recognize his voice.  I did watch Star Search but I think his role there was to blend into the background, not be the Star and that’s basically my memory of him in that respect.  So, a life lost is the loss of someone’s loved one, someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s daddy and someone’s friend, therefore, I pray for his family to get the peace they need.

Farrah Fawcett was the center of every young girl my age.  Our attention was on that swimsuit photo below which I feel (an so do the folks on CNN apparently) is the one photo that will always be THE Farrah Fawcett look.  And, of course, crime shows today do not hold a candle to Charlie’s Angle and Farrah was the best Angel there ever was.  I craved her flybacks or wings if you will.  The mane of hers will forever be etched in my mind.

The thing about losing Farrah was for the most part, the nation, her family, everyone knew it was imminent.  She was able to visit with her son who is in prison or I should say he was able to visit with her and Ryan O’Neal was with her in her final days.  So, her death was not really a shock and I think because of that she has managed to get put on the backburner.  That doesn’t mean that she will be missed any less than Ed McMahon or Michael Jackson or any other person who has lost a loved one this week.

That photo was considered a very sexy and on the edge photo back in Farrah’s day  Compare that to the Sports Illustrated models today who have their swimsuits painted on instead of actually putting any material over their privates.  It shows how far we have come in regard to this issue.  But, look at that photo, is that not the most beautiful woman you have ever seen?

And, on Michael Jackson.  MJ was a big part of teenage years and just as I thought he was falling on the back burner, I had a group of cheerleaders who could dance the entire Thriller dance.  They were awesome, he was awesome and I think songs like Rockin’ Robin, Billy Jean and Thriller will always be big.  If you remember, David Cook did a rendition of Billy Jean on his season of America Idol and it was simply awesome.  That merely shows the versatility of MJ.  He made that song one of the biggest R & B songs and David Cook almost made it into a ballad.

Ed McMahon at 82, Farrah Fawcett at 62 and Michael Jackson at 50…all different generations, all different forces of death but 3 big names and big personalities in my mind.  May the families of these three along with the families of anyone who has lost a mother, father, brother, sister, or friend have guidance and peace.
