Sara would never have had a successful life in the computer industry if it hadn’t been for THAT WOMAN. THAT WOMAN, the college guidance counselor, told Sara her Math skills were horrendous (OK, maybe she was a bit more tactful) and she shouldn’t go into any Math-related majors. So what did Sara major in? Quantitative Business Analysis, with a minor in computer science, natch.
After college she used her computer knowledge in several industries including retail, health care, finance, government, and information technology. She’s also written several technical books for the computer industry.
But it soon became apparent to Sara that Corporate America, and its complicated office politics, was not for her. She became a consultant, an experience that led to No Limits: How I escaped the clutches of Corporate America to live the Self-employed life of my dreams.
Sara and her children live in Louisiana’s version of small-town America where she still pursues her first love–Artificial Intelligence. In the shadow of historical plantations, Sara works on developing robotic assistance to help senior citizens.

That’s right; there is no such thing as corporate security. It’s a myth. A made up thing. Something that certain people wanted you to believe to keep you “in line”. Sorry to be the one to tell you this, unless of course, you already figured it out, and I am going to guess you did or at least suspected so, and that is why you decided to read this post.

Well, the good news is that you were right along and that it is not too late for you to take charge of your own destiny. You see, the only person that is looking out for you is you. So, if you want to live the best life possible and really “enjoy” yourself before you die, you are going to have to leave that corporate job. Seriously. It is taking years (that’s right), years off of your life. You don’t need that do you? You’re probably aging faster than you want to anyway.

So, what should you do? Get out. Get out ASAP! Run for your life and never look back. It will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. I know this, because I made my escape 4 years ago. Despite the inevitable hardships, it has been the best decision I have ever made and I would do it again a thousand times.

Ok, but here is the essential caveat. If you are going to do it, you have to remember one critical thing; always believe in yourself. Forever. No matter what happens. I am not kidding. If you do not believe in yourself, no one else will. So, no backing down on that one. Everything else is pretty much optional.

So, good luck and let me how it goes. I just love happy endings. And remember, if you’re not having fun, it’s not worth it. Ever!
