I have a few ideas…..I mean really, I do.  I had surgery twice last year.  I’ve taken a lot of medication and I’ve also had numerous steroid injections.  And, now, my skin appears to be leather (a la my get a good tan days although I’m a sunscreen-aholic now) and my hair has managed this strange, really really strange phenomenon.

If I could find photos without wasting half of my night, I’d get you some.  But, you can look through my flickr album and see a few if you just want to see photos of me.  But, to save you some time, let me just give you tidbits of information.

I was born with mousy brown, thin, fin, stick straight hair.

I turned to processing with perms and highlights.

My hair turned into a disaster.

It was half way down my back and in such bad shape that I wore it in one of those granny buns EVERY DAY.

I cut it to about shoulder length and commenced to getting rid of the horrible processing.

No perms, no highlights, nothing.

And ah…healthy hair returned.

And then  I got pregnant.  And the hair was jut all bouncing and behaving all over the place.  It had a little body and I do emphasize little there but it did have some.

Then I had a baby.

And the hair all started to fall out. To say I was experiencing simple hair loss is a manormous understatement.

When it grew back, I had a few curls here and there but mostly just thin, fine, mousy brown, icky hair.

And then I got pregnant.

And it was bouncing and behaving again. And it was a bit curlier.

And then I had a baby.

And that was basically the end of anything that resembled bouncing and behaving.  Except the curls were there, more of them than even before.

I would be lying if I told you that I am now looking for product samples instead of continuously buying more and more hair “stuff” trying to get my hair to clear up.  Do you know where to get the best free product samples.  And, I’ve found some valuable coupons, and I’ve even received numerous coupons trying to get something to work.

Fast forward 5 years.  No perms, no highlights, nothing.  But, this mousy brown, fine, stick-straight hair is really dark, like almost black, with a few gray streaks and it has this really odd curl pattern.

After having surgery twice last year, the curls have resorted to merely little balls of fuzz.  As of late, it takes a second person to comb my hair out each day and when it is washed.  Yesterday after Boy Genius spend over 30 minutes trying to get the knots out, he took a bottle of conditioner and just coated my hair. And again, hair loss is a big problem around here.

I’ve yet to wash it out.  I figure it will be oily and disgusting.  Who knows.

The only think I know for sure is I now have really dark, curly hair that did have the potential to be appealing.  Until….until it started falling out, breaking off and basically just winding into painful knots.

Conditioner anyone?

Advice?

I went on the hunt for trial size containers of products just to see if they were going to work.  I was literally at the beck and call of anyone willing to try to help me.  And, when you start buying expensive hair products, you will be smart to find a way to get some of those products without paying a fortune for them.  So, cheap is good, but free, that’s way better in my book and you can request free samples.

I mean, I’ve never had beautiful hair.  I’m not expecting to have Farrah hair from the 70′s and Brooke Shields hair from the 80′ and I don’t want anyone’s hair from the 90′s.  I just want something that slightly resembles a person’s head of hair rather than the mangy dog down the road.

I would be lying if I told you that I am now looking for product samples instead of continuously buying more and more hair “stuff” trying to get my hair to clear up.  And, I’ve found some valuable coupons, and I’ve even received numerous coupons trying to get something to work.
